Terra's fourth album, 'Sunset' is available now! These twelve songs feature a spectrum of the heart, through teenage summer romance, marriage, grief, and the other side of goodbye. Featuring a host of Canadian talent including The Bombadils, Ian Sherwood, and Matt Andersen.

Terra Spencer welcomes the summer heat with a fresh folk pop take on “Seventeen”, the opening track from her acclaimed 2024 album ‘Sunset’. Co-written with the East Coast's Erin Costelo and Carleton Stone at a seaside retreat, the song scrapbooks a teenage romance before the tide inevitably turns.
The band - Geoff Arsenault, Mike Farrington Jr., Tyler Messick, and Dave Gunning - support Terra's layered vocals, throwback keys, and expansive piano with a groove that captures the push and pull of the Bay of Fundy. A departure from the '70s wood-paneled nylon string guitar that anchors the album version, the revamp calls back to the sounds of Dawson’s Creek reruns and ‘90s car radio, when female singer/songwriters ruled the airwaves.

Terra Spencer and Ben Caplan became good friends over a cup of tea, with a tender song about a VCR played on Ben's kitchen piano. That afternoon visit was the beginning of Old News, a collection of eleven new songs from Terra's notebook shaped by Ben's imagination as a debut producer. The album was recorded with a host of Halifax's finest players at Fang Recording in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Told by Terra's butterscotch voice and featuring Ben's distinctive sandpaper baritone, these are nostalgic songs about the gentle art of saying goodbye.

Winner of the 2021 Music NS Award for Folk Recording of the Year, Chasing Rabbits is the soundtrack to a snowy car ride home after Christmas shopping at Sears when you were a kid. Terra's eagerly-anticipated second album is collection of wintery songs about snowbird romance, leaving and longing, family ties, home life and wildlife. Her butterscotch voice melts into sparkling piano, rich harmonies from The Bombadils, and cinematic strings from Bela String Quartet, recorded in Halifax at Sonic Temple Recording Studio with some of the city's finest players.

Learning how to tell a story through a song has been one of the greatest gifts in my life. Songs are a beautiful way to explore and express our own experiences and the stories we collect along the way. In these exclusive one-on-one online sessions, we'll focus in on your ideas, challenges, and possibilities - expect to work and play hard!
This three-part online or in person workshop includes three one-hour consultations via Google Meet, with an introductory email exchange, where I get to know you and your project. First, we'll talk about your songwriting history, influences, and goals. Second, we'll dig into the nuts and bolts and swap tricks and techniques to work on. Finally, we'll have a wrap up session, where we revisit the song to see how it has progressed, what work remains, and talk about how to share it live, online, or in the studio!
We can also use this time as a consultation about your next steps in your career, whether it is navigating the industry, booking shows, or whatever will help you move forward in your music journey with confidence!
The workshop fee is $210 CDN plus HST. After you've completed your purchase, I'll send an email with next steps to get the ball rolling.

It can also be a follow-up session if you have completed the three-part series. The workshop fee is $100 CAD plus HST.
